To His Majesty

So God has been talking to me about abiding in him………first he directed me to the scripture, then he directed me towards two passages in the complete works of oswald chambers………one referring to the John 15:7 passage and one referring to gethsemane………That is where this section popped out to me:

“In the temptation of our Lord, Satan’s first attack was in the physical domain. In Gethsemane his onslaught is against our Lord as Son of Man; and this is his final onslaught on the Son of God as Son of Man. “you will get through as Son of God, I cannot touch you there, but You will never get one member of the human race through with You. Look at Your disciples, they are asleep, they cannot even watch with You. When You come to the Cross Your body will be so tortured and fatigued, so paralyzed with pain, and Your soul will be so darkened and confused that You will not be able to retain a clear understanding of what You are doing. Your whole personality will be clouded and crushed by the weight of sin that You will never get through as Man.”
If Satan had been right, all that would have happened on the Cross would have been the death of a martyr only, the way into Life for us would never have been opened. But if Jesus Christ does get through as Son of Man, it means that the way is open for every one who has been born or ever will be born to get back to God. Satan’s challenge to our Lord was that He would not be able to do it; He would only get through as Son of God, because Satan could not touch him there. The fear that came upon our Lord was that He might die before He reached the Cross. He feared as Son of Man He might die before He had opened the gate for us to get through, and He ‘was heard in that He feared,’ and was delivered from death in Gethsemane.
When our Lord came to the Cross, His Body, soul and spirit were completely triumphant, there was perfect self-posession. Did the pain of the body cloud His mind? “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” His mind was as clear as a sunbeam__”Woman, behold thy son!” and He was so triumphant in spirit, in His essential personality, that He cried with a loud voice, ‘Father into thy hands I commit My Spirit.’”

What was Jesus Joy? Jesus joy that was set before him that he endured the cross was John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever should believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” His Joy was a reunion of father and sons. He foresaw a company of spiritual sons who would be re-united with the Father and a Father who longed to hold them, touch them and love them.
ALL of satan’s work was to divide Jesus from His mission. His goal was to get Jesus to succeed on His own terms………to succeed as son of God, yes, that was inevitable, but to FAIL as Son of Man. If He could get Jesus to not succeed ACCORDING TO THE FATHER’S Desire then Jesus could not fulfill the His Joy in seeing many sons redeemed and come home. Satan’s assault was to make Jesus lose sight of the most important truth.
This is how the enemy neutralizes Churches……he gets them to succeed, but on their own terms instead of according to the desire and plan of the Father…..in so doing they cease to ‘Abide in the Vine’ and they become unfruitful because the Life of the Father no longer flows through their works……….and because of they they are successful temporally…..3-5000 member churches, grammy award winning multiplatinum cds and oscar winning box office smash movies……but no real change in the culture or in people……Why? Because the Life of the Father is not in the work……it was not built according to the Father’s desire……..
So Satan’s ploy was to get Jesus to succeed after a fashion……in the earthly sense…..but to fail in heavens terms because the work was not done according to heaven’s desire……….That is how churches in our area have been neutralized, with leaders, creative people and the like……..It’s good……but it isn’t built the way God wants it done.

We must learn to abide in the vine. Not just to be successful…..but according to the Father’s Desire and the Father’s plan…………

Adam

I am not the same man……..something has happened……God is working, moving……I cannot be who I was………..but I am better……….God gathers out of me what is wrong and by His inworking life He transforms my soul…..I choose this moment to be conformed to his image……

The enemy clings and desperately tries to hang on…..assailing my mind with images of fear, doubt, lust, pain……….He is losing His grip and getting desperate…….I know now that he is on the ropes…….he is becoming unstable and frustrated…………The attacks are hard……….but I am hopeful…..because my life is changing for the better…..good things are coming……..

This is going to be a fight…….but it is a fight we can win……the flailing and attacks are attacks of desperation…….a desperate enemy that is losing his grip…………We must face ourselves and repent and let God gather out of us what elements are left and let him bring our lives into line with his light and wisdom and life…………when that happens……..then things can really begin…….

The Bridges are burnt
I’ll never return…..
To those waste places
To the old places
Thank God…….

I am not perfect
By any stretch of the imagination
But I’ll never return
To the places of darkness
To the place of unbelief
I will make it, by God’s grace and mercy
I believe Him…..He will help me
He will come through

I will stand up and take my place
I will get the outward look
I will reach out to the wounded and broken
Pushing forward, pushing out
Reaching out and being a servant of Him
I will learn to be humble and true
I will see Him High and lifted up
He will overtake me with Joy
He will rise up with healing in His wings
He is healing me, I am letting go
And falling into His arms.

The way back is closed, thank God
The bridges are burnt, the die is cast
I am going forward, and I will be his
His alone………
